Ask a speedway rider about Vojens and you will hear about the weather before you hear about the racing. The Vojens Speedway Center has staged more world finals than almost anywhere in Denmark, and it has also postponed, abandoned and very nearly rioted its way through a remarkable number of wet afternoons. The pattern was set at the very first world-level meeting it held. The inaugural Under-21 final, in 1977, was stopped after twelve heats because the rain simply would not let up.
